Viaduct Restaurants
Whether you are looking for casual dining or something more opulent, the wide range of Viaduct restaurants are second to none.
The Viaduct Harbour is home to the Restaurant Precinct, part of the waterfront that is specifically for restaurants and bars. Although not all the Auckland Viaduct restaurants are situated here, it is a good place to start if you want to browse a variety of different places before choosing one that takes your fancy.
The Viaduct Basin is renowned for it’s vibrant environment. It plays host to regular events that make the Restaurant Precinct a world-class dining destination.
With over 20 restaurants and bars open from breakfast till late, prepare to be spoilt for choice.
There are a variety of international restaurants both in and around the Viaduct, including Thai, Italian and Japanese. These range the Pasha lounge, where you will find a wonderful tapas menu, to the authentic Hong Kong style dishes you’ll find at the Grand Harbour Chinese Restaurant. The style and cuisine on offer at Portofino provide an elegant Italian dining experience.
There is even a restaurant to satisfy the biggest appetites! The widely talked about Wildfire Churrascaria has an all-you-can-eat policy. With marinated meat skewers (steak, chicken, lamb, pork) served with vegetables, bread and salsa, you can have a taste of eighteenth century Brazil!
But if you fancy something a little more ‘home-grown’, you can opt for one of the fabulous seafood restaurants (including Kermadec and Two Flying Fish), where you can find yourself enjoying ‘fish n chips’ (a New Zealand favourite) done Viaduct style.
If you feel like bringing a bottle of your favourite wine to compliment your meal, then enjoy the BYO dining of the Viaduct Grill.
As you can imagine, the views are wonderful! Many restaurants, including Mikano, boast a spectacular view of the waterfront. The name of the Sails restaurant was inspired by it’s fantastic view of the marina with thousands of yachts.
Only a short stroll from any of the well located parking facilities (for both cars and boats!), the Viaduct restaurants Auckland are a magic place to dine or unwind. Take the guess work out of your next night out.
